One of the most important aspects of the distribution of iron and steel products is managing the logistics for the materials.

As a result, and in order to optimise the movement of materials, the Gonvarri Group has strategically decided to be located in the Port of Tarragona to facilitate the flow of incoming materials to Spanish plants as well as to its clients.

Strategically located in the docks of the Port of Tarragona, our plant boasts over 34,000 m2 of buildings allowing us to carry out the most important logistics related tasks, such as shipping, receiving and storage of material, whether it belongs to Gonvarri or to our clients.

The logistics of shipping and receiving material
Our proximity to important European iron and steel works and to other countries, make Tarragona an important port of entry to the Spanish market of iron and steel products.

Gonvarri has designed its Tarragona facilities to combine maritime receiving with lorry or railway loading. The facilities can be easily accessed and we have cranes to handle up to 35 tonnes.

These facilities allow us to receive products for maritime export destined for Spain, Europe or any other country that the client requires. Furthermore, delivery conditions are fully tailored to the client's needs.

In terms of the shipping and receiving of materials, our experience with port and customs operations allows us to offer clients a comprehensive service. We take care of all the necessary documentation as well as customs procedures.

Storage
As a complement to the activities of shipping / receiving, we offer storage services in order to optimise the flow of materials.

Our facilities can store over 100,000 tonnes and can be fully adapted to meet the requirements of any material, including handling coils of up to 35 tonnes.

Furthermore, thanks to the state-of-the-art technology that our plants are equipped with, we can and are trained to offer on-line information on the precise location of each coil.

The rest of the Group's plants also have the material means, as well as Gonvarri's experience and knowledge to carry out all types of logistics services.
