2000 Expansion
The new millennium
began with an acceleration in the Group’s plans for growth
and geographical and product diversification:
- In 2000, Gonvarri opens a second GONVAUTO dedicated
to VW, in NAVARRA. In 2001, the opening of the second
plant in Campinas BRAZIL strengthens Gonvarri’s
presence in South America and consolidates their leadership
in this market.
-In 2002, a new Centre is set up in the PORT OF TARRAGONA
which not only allows the Group to optimise its internal
logistics, but also allows the Group to venture into a new
business area of providing logistics services to third-party
companies.
In 2004, in close collaboration with Gestamp, a new
service centre is opened in Poland primarily dedicated
to servicing the needs of Gestamp and VW Poland. That same
year, and after the positive experience with the Port of
Tarragona plant, a new Centre is set up in the PORT
OF MARÍN (Galicia) that combines logistical
advantages with dedication to the automotive sector, as it
is located near the PSA Group's plant in Vigo.
