1986 A Step towards Stamping
1986 marked a
milestone for the Corporation, as it joined the
automotive parts sector with Estampaciones Arín, now
called Estampaciones Bizkaia. This project was established
in 1992 with the creation, as an independent unit, of
GESTAMP AUTOMOCIÓN, a company of the automotive parts sector
entirely devoted to metal stamping. Today, as the leading
company in its sector, Gestamp covers the whole value chain,
has over 8,700 employees, a turnover of 1.250 billion euros
(2004), and is Gonvarri's largest client, consuming over
600,000 tonnes annually.
