The automotive sector is currently involved in an intense process of globalisation, which demands a response from the auxiliary industry in line with its new requirements.

Grupo Gonvarri devotes over 60% of its production to clients from this sector. As a result, a number of years ago it initiated a parallel process of specialisation in order to meet the needs of the automotive industry.

Ever since it was started, this process has become more and more intense, seeking new Gonvarri products that make greater contributions to the vehicle manufacturers’ value chain.

Direct participation in our clients’ value chain has meant the culmination of the process. For our Group, it has meant the opportunity to become even further involved with each client, sharing efficient and close collaboration that begins with the product design phase and concludes with a global solution that synthesises all of the production requirements and specifications.

Within this dynamic that envelops all of Grupo Gonvarri’s activity, the creation of Gonvauto in Barcelona in 1992 is of special relevance.

This Gonvarri subsidiary represents a singular case in the domestic automobile industry, as it was created to outsource Seat-Volkswagen’s entire cutting process in Spain and is the first experience of its type in Europe.

Since its creation, Grupo Gonvarri, through Gonvauto, has provided its clients with a highly efficient service in the complex automobile market. It has met all of their requirements as regards formats and qualities, paying special attention to blank handling and possessing the latest automated stacking systems.

One of the fundamental aspects of this service is the optimised physical distribution of the manufactured parts. Intensive utilisation of leading edge technology enables us to pay the utmost attention to quality and the use of sophisticated logistics systems that ensures the complete satisfaction of our clients.

Currently, the annual production of the Gonvauto plant in Barcelona exceeds 90 million parts, which represents more than 400,000 tons of different elements, making up a catalogue of over 400 items.

With the start-up of a new Gonvauto plant in Navarre, Grupo Gonvarri has reaffirmed its position as the absolute leader in service provision for the automotive industry.
