This company, founded more than 35 years ago and acquired by the Group in 1972, has over 100,000 m2 in facilities and is located in Cancienes (Asturias).

Hiasa centres its activity on exploiting and transforming iron and steel products to obtain: strips, sheet metals, structural profiles, ribbed plates and panels for roofing and sidings, composite slabs, welded pipes, road safety barriers, acoustic barriers, noise free tunnel and wall coatings, plasma and laser cut parts... etc.

HIASA's production volume, over 500,000 tonnes of transformed steel per year, positions it as one of the largest in the sector. HIASA develops its activity in three basic sectors:

1.- Iron and steel products and services for the automotive and appliance industries.
2.- Products for ROAD EQUIPMENT
3.- Products for CONSTRUCTION

Manufacturing
With over 100,000 square metres of facilities situated in Cancienes (Asturias), Hiasa has the most advanced production equipment, making it one of the best prepared companies for supplying a wide range of products.

HIASA carries out the entire manufacturing process from receiving raw materials to applying the final surface treatment, including hot dip galvanization and electrostatic application of powdered paint, guaranteeing an extremely high level of control both in the manufacturing processes and the final product.

HIASA, is constantly participating in and promoting important R&D projects, both in the field of new technologies and in the development of new products and improvement of existing ones. This research and development is especially strong in the Road Safety field as well as in the field of metal products for construction.

The company also actively takes part in several standardisation and certification committees, both on a national and international level.

Quality Control
Strict quality control begins with ensuring the quality and suitability of the raw materials used in our production process. The Quality Control Department is fully equipped with the necessary instruments to carry out the chemical and mechanical tests on each of the materials to be used.

The factory has a Quality Management System in accordance with the UNE EN ISO 9001:2000 standard and an Environment Management System in accordance with the UNE EN ISO 14001 standard, both certified by Veritas Quality International (BVQi).

HIASA holds both the AENOR “N” mark (Spain) and the AENOR “NF” mark (France) for metal barrier components according to the Spanish and French standards respectively.

Road Equipment Division
This division is dedicated to the development, manufacturing and installation of vehicle barrier systems for roadways as well as acoustic barriers and noise free tunnel coatings for roadways, railway lines and tunnels.
