Gonvarri Parma was established in 1991, as a result of the acquisition of Emilsider, a small service centre located in Fontanellato, 20 km north of Parma.

Built on an initial surface area of 4,000 m2, the plant now occupies 82,030 m2, 30,000 m2 of which are buildings. In addition it boasts state-of-the-art machinery, consisting of nine cut-to-length and slitting lines, automatic packing systems and a pickling line. It has a workforce of 111 continuously trained employees that ensure our customers will receive a top-notch product and quality service, and enabling us to produce nearly 195,000 tonne in 2005.

We are strategically located in the heart of Italy, allowing us to deliver our products quickly and giving us flexibility in our production process. This makes us a supplier able to satisfy the "just in time" needs of our clients.

Our cutting facilities allow us to take on a wide range of products: hot rolling, cold rolling and coatings. As a result we are able to offer our clients the product they desire in commercial sheet metal, strips and irregular shapes in any type of steel.

Furthermore, a project that will become a milestone for the company has just been made a reality: the installation of a continuous pickling line able to produce 150,000 tonnes annually and the construction and subsequent extension of 12,000 m2 buildings. This line will offer Gonvarri Italia an excellent opportunity for commercial expansion abroad.

These major investments have made the company one of the leading steel service centres in Italy.

We are presently working towards obtaining ISO TS 16949 certification and ISO 14000 environmental certification.
